Viewers Make Meaning!

[[356]]
POL 40-62

Similar to what I've said previously, the meaning of art changes. In this section, it talks about how art that many have once been considered bad art, or "low class" really depends on the culture and personal preferences. Even an ad on TV meant for one culture can get many different reactions. I've been on a page proclaiming it to be one of the best ads made. In the comments, while there were people praising it, and having only great things to say about it, there were also those who said it was all wrong, the message became distorted, and should not have been shown on TV. Our cultures have become so diverse, it's impossible to please everyone!
It makes me think of YouTube videos like Charlie the Unicorn, and asdfmovie. It takes a weird sort of humor to enjoy them, and if you have it, they are hilarious. To other people, they are too weird and they can't watch it past 5 seconds (but I don't blame them for that either!). While I enjoy those videos, I also enjoy classical music. I don't think it's possible to accurately put people into specific groups of their preferences.

Amazing *Recognized* Art!

I was on Pinterest (as usual), which led me to Tumblr, which led me to DeviantArt. The user "alicexz" has done some absolutely amazing artwork. She has art from Doctor Who, Sherlock, The Avengers, and more, but I selected these two pictures for a reason. Under these pictures it said "BBC Licensed." When I went to the photo's description, it said they were available in the BBC Shop! How cool is that?! Not only are these pictures beautiful and breathtaking, the actual BBC has taken notice of it! I know there's a lot of fanart out there (believed me, I've looked at a LOT), but I haven't seen any that has been sold by the BBC! I mean, I want a poster of these.. they are amazing! I guess it does help if you know the characters, and the exact episode the second one is referring to, but they are beautiful works of art in any case.

Do Gifs Animate on Blogger?

I was wondering if gifs are animated on Blogger. Here's my test blog post. If they do, that would be... -->

Ooooh, I think they will work! They are animated as I am writing this!!

..And if this didn't work.....

Ah, technology..

This is my storyboard; an exaggeration of my everyday life. It's supposed to have a scatterbrained and mushed together feeling to it.. Whether I'm working on Photoshop, Blogger, a paper for a class, Pinterest, or Facebook, it's what I do. Even when I finally get off my computer, I'm right there on my tablet again!

Is it Really Yellow?

[[355]]
As I read the pages about color, it reminded me of a VSauce (YouTube channel) video called "This is not Yellow." As I went to watch it again after reading, I found that some of it was very similar to some things talked about in the book. The yellow you actually see on a screen contains no actual yellow. Screens output red, green, and blue. In the video, he explains how your brain thinks that a combination of red and green will look yellow. Having watched all his videos, I can think of other things he's said that relates to the chapter, but I believe they'd be all over. It really is an awesome channel, you should check it out!

Lessig 7-15

[[356]]
I found it funny that in the reading of Lessig, it gave statistics of the internet in 2002. It said that 58% of people had access to the internet, as if that was a huge number! Today, I don't know one person who doesn't use the internet! My grandparents have a Facebook! You can't even enroll in WSU without using the internet, and most classes make use of it. This could include Angel, blogging (as seen.... HERE!!), or researching information for a paper. We don't go to the library for it anymore! I think if the world lost the internet for a week, we'd go crazy! Possibly.. Even a day. We're so dependent now!

Self Portrait

My portrait represents me through the many things I love. My TV shows, books, hobbies, my faith, and some inside jokes are portrayed in it.The goal was to make the picture of me less noticeable than the rest of it. I feel as if these things that I love ARE me, and not as much as what I look like.
